Winsing Arts Foundation was founded in the spring of 2018. The foundation was established to promote the balanced development of art, architecture, environment, life, and aesthetics in Taiwan while facilitating connections between individuals, and between people and the land. It aims to create an ideal space of art and culture for the city and its residents by operating as an arts and cultural space, holding exhibitions, building local communities, and promoting relevant aesthetic education. The foundation’s tasks include promoting professional art and community-building. Professional art promotion mainly focuses on supporting the writing and publication of contemporary Taiwanese art criticism books, and establishing the Arts Archive. The foundation’s community-building efforts are devoted to establishing community theme independent bookstores to promote reading. By providing resources relevant to a professional art platform and conducting community-building, the foundation hopes to promote art among the community, and achieve the ideal of integrating art and living. People less familiar with art or art lovers who don’t have time to visit museums can enjoy up-close interaction with art through the exhibitions, seminars, and courses held at the foundation’s art and cultural spaces, as well as the construction of community art libraries and the Taiwanese contemporary Art Archive, gaining diverse everyday aesthetic experiences along the way. With the foundation’s community-building efforts, we hope to contribute sustainable influence and cultivation that can, little by little, allow humanism and aesthetics to grow beyond the community, flourish, and change the city’s cultural landscape.
